Septarian

Septarian - also known as 'dragon stone' due to its scaly appearance - is a sedimentary stone showing distinctive 'cracked' effect patterns with highly contrasting sandy brown limestone patches and lemon yellow calcite. It is believed to have been created from the crystallized remains of ancient sealife that fell into fissures in the ocean floor. When cut and polished, this characterful stone makes attractive natural ornaments that are highly valued by both fossil and crystal enthusiasts.
